Six Simple Ways To Deal With Acne

Acne is a skin condition characterized by pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. In the severe case there can be pimples with pus and deep scarring. Its a random condition that can affect teens when they reach puberty. Some people in their forties have had it also.
A lot of research is done but the only commonality seems to be oily skin. It isn’t a symptom of a more serious disease — and it isn’t dangerous or contagious. It can erode your confidence especially in the outbreaks that result in pustules and scars.
Can anything be done to help. Absolutely. There are many treatments to try yourself. If nothing works you can consult your doctor. There are many prescriptions she or he can try. Just remember one thing. The product that clears your best friend’s skin overnight may not help you at all. The next product might be the one that works for you.

Try these six suggestions. If none of them help at least they won’t make it worse.
– Keep your face as oil-free as possible: Wash your face twice a day with mild soap. Liquid is good but a bar soap can be just as mild. Try Dove or Neutrogena. There’s a bar […]

Your Face: You Be The Judge

This story was told to me. A woman in her thirties went to a cosmetics demonstration party. The Mary Kaye representative showed the small group all the newest products in their line. Some of the women ordered products and some were not sure. She gave everyone a small catalogue to look at. It listed all the products they sell. She told the group there was no obligation to buy unless they liked it.
Three women made an appointment. On the day of Victoria’s appointment she welcomed the Mary Kaye representative into her home. She served coffee and then they prepared for the facial. Although Mary Kaye chatted on about how good her face looked and didn’t the face cream smell terrific, Victoria felt an uncomfortable tightness on her skin. She mentioned it and Mary Kaye just said “We’re almost finished.”
The cream was being applied with upward strokes of Mary Kaye’s fingers and finally they were finished. Mary Kaye handed her a mirror and told her what an improvement the cream had made on her […]

So You want to Look Younger?

The effects of sun and pollution and simple aging have created markets for hundereds of anti aging skin care products. Some reduce wrinkles. Others only mask them temporarily.Wanting to look younger than you are has been around longer than wrinkles have. Every year, skin care companies work on new agents, or modify current agents to perfect the youth delivering product. We’ve come a long way from elixirs sold by the gentleman in the wagon passing through town with the bottle of “somebody’s cure-all.”Four new slightly different wrinkle injection products were approved by the FDA in 2007. Depending on the doctor or clinic you choose, anti wrinkle injections can cost as much as $1200. Studies indicate that those that contain hyaluronic acid lead to collagen production.Reading the package insert of these wrinkle injections they all have side effects and one of them includes increased risk of granulomas that may be permanent as well as an increased risk of allergic reactions. One of the most damaging effects of aging comes from long-term exposure to sun and pollution. Freed radicals cause the damage, like the visable sings of aging, in the second layer of the skin. Free radicals […]
